Lithgow High School's Ryan Wells may only be in Year 7, but he is already a veteran when it comes to representing his region at the All Schools Championships in Homebush.

At the most recent event, he exceeded all his previous success, claiming the Under 12's Combined High Schools (CHS) title and finishing seventh against all the schools competing in his age group.
Wells has been hard at work with trainer, Glenbrook based Dani Andres, for the past year and attributed his success to "training harder" than he ever has for the event.
Fellow State runners Gabrielle Dray and Emily Healey both ran personal best times. Portland Central School's James Cathie represented his school with distinction.
It is a busy athletic season, with 16 Lithgow High School students travelling to Dubbo to compete in the region's athletics trials.
Eleven qualified for the CHS state athletics championships to be held at Homebush in September. Lithgow High School's Tasmyn Davies (13-years shot put and discus), Kobi Egan (17-years triple jump), Blake Fittler (12-years shot put), Emily Healey (14-years 800m), Dylan Miles (17-years 800m), Kyra Phillips (17-years shot put), Ashley Robinson (16-years 200m and long jump), Maddison Symes (13-years 100m), Lachlan Thompson (15-years high jump), Luke Thompson (17-years 110m hurdles), Ryan Wells (12-years 800m, high jump).
Other students who competed and just missed selection were Tayah Crook, Gabrielle Dray, Kallan Phillips, Molly Robinson and Harrison Wells.
