Overnight the mercury in the city dropped to a low of minus 3.5 degrees and by 8am it had only risen slightly to -2.5 degrees.
The Live Traffic warning said ice had been located on the road on the Great Western Highway, near Lockyer Street, at Bowenfels.
The alert states that Westbound motorists are impacted and they should reduce their speed and drive with caution.
