The students joined with high school mentors to carry of out experiments in the school hall.
La Salle welcomes students from Catholic primary schools at various times during the year, including visits from Oberon and St Joseph's at Portland.
The most recent visit on Friday, June 28, was a chance for St Patrick's Year 5 students to visit.
A total of 39 primary school students joined in the day and it was hoped that all would leave with a greater appreciation of the sciences.
"The aim is to get them a little bit more engaged in STEM," La Salle science coordinator Jason MacKinnon said.
