Four ambulance crews were called to Lithgow's Hockey fields on Monday afternoon at about 4pm after a backflip went wrong.

A man, whose age was not known, was taken to Lithgow Hospital suffering from a back injury after he ran up a tree and attempted a backflip. A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said emergency services were called after he landed poorly.
He was transported by road ambulance to Lithgow Hospital for treatment.
