In wet and miserable conditions the side travelled to Campbelltown to take on Gunners FC and were unfortunate to go down with a 4-1 loss.
Workies young gun Logan Inwood was the first to find the back of the net, leading the game 1-0 but with a few fatal calls from the referee, and a disallowed goal by striker Ben Sheehan to lead 2-0 left the Workies at 1-1 by half time.
The next 45 minutes saw the Workies fight hard to push forward but they lost momentum which let Gunners through with a few late goals.
Coach David Hunter was impressed with his team's effort considering they came up against a very big and physical side.
Goalkeeper Sam Johnson also played well making some crucial saves.
Despite having some control for majority of the game, the men were unlucky to get the result they wanted.
