Lithgow VIEW Club celebrated its 50th birthday on Wednesday, June 12 in the Lithgow Workies Showroom.

Around 100 members and 34 guests attended, including Member for Calare Andrew Gee and Bathurst MP Paul Toole.
Three inaugural members, Deirdre Culla, Marie Brown and Pam Kerrison, were presented with their 50 year pins by National vice president Pat McCrae.
The inaugural meeting of the Lithgow VIEW Club took place at 'Dormara' on June 12, 1969 with 108 people in attendance.
Seventeen more financial members joined making a total 48 Foundation members, among them was VIEW club secretary Deirdre Culla.
"I can't believe it's been 50 years, I've stayed because it's an amazing club, there's always something to do and it's a day out," she said.
Mrs Culla also said she loved the friendship, meeting people from different places, seeing friends and making new ones.
"It's a wonderful support system to have and I've been lucky to have a husband who supports my position in the club, I also love that we can help disadvantaged children," she said.

National vice president Pat McCrae congratulated the dedicated group for their help in making difference to disadvantaged youths through The Smith Family's Learning for Life program.
"Congratulations to all you ladies, there is a true essence of warmth and friendship here and everyone of you is doing something remarkable, I wish you continued success" she said.
New member, Karen Dean was also welcomed to the club and was presented with a badge by Zone Councillor Lyn Wren.
Members and guests enjoyed a luncheon followed by birthday cake, raffles and lucky door prizes.
There was also live entertainment by Sheryl Scharkie who played songs from the last few decades.
President Sue Giokaris thanked everyone for the birthday wishes and for attending the event.
VIEW Club's next meeting is set to be held on Wednesday, July 10.
