Residents have been eagerly filming the first falls of the winter season, as autumn's run of unseasonably warm weather came to an end.
Lithgow reached a top of 4 degrees on Monday, with icy winds and rain along with snow, which has not settled.
The last days of autumn are set to continue to bring a chilling cold snap to the Lithgow region with possible snow and subzero temperatures forecast over the coming days.
More snow is forecast near Oberon on Wednesday afternoon and there is also snow forecast around Blayney on Thursday morning.

Those snowfalls are forecast to come in a week where winter could arrive a couple of days early.
Meanwhile, a sheep grazier's warning is in place across much of the state, including the Central Tablelands.
The warning, posted by the Bureau of Meteorology this afternoon, states: "Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and strong westerly winds are expected during Monday.
"... There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions."
Areas likely to be affected include the Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts and parts of the Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands and Riverina forecast districts.
