Hampton Public School
The village of Hampton is home to just over 100 residents however the Hampton Public School plays a vital part in the community. While the school is small, servicing just seven students, Principal Belinda Greer said size provides the school with major advantages.
"Transition for the kids is an important time and we're able to offer half a day each week for students enrolling the following year to come and join our classrooms," she said. "It helps the kids meet the other students and become comfortable in the school environment".
Small classes also translate into more on on one time with the two teachers on hand and better individual access to equipment, technology and learning tools, while still allowing for larger events and increased social aspects by partnering with larger local schools.
