It was wet, rainy and cold at this year's Lithgow Show, but despite the weather there was still plenty of community spirit at the Tony Luchetti Showground.

Lithgow Show Society secretary and coordinator Vanetta Renshaw said she was glad to see those who came with their umbrellas and gumboots to support the Show.
"Even though it rained, Friday we had a good crowd but little entertainment, we anticipated Saturday would be bigger, but thank you to those who showed up," she said.
She said while numbers were down due to the wet weather, the Society persevered and went ahead with as much entertainment as they could.
"It was wet but we went ahead with the bull ride and bikes, unfortunately it was too wet for the annual fireworks.
"The rain was bad for us, but good for the farmers at least," she said.
Ms Renshaw also said there were always concerns about the future of the Lithgow Show due to its ageing demographic in the Society.
"We've got an ageing demographic which is going to catch up with us sooner or later, and be a major problem, we need some young blood," she said.
She said there was a need to campaign for young people to get involved in the Show, however she knew it could be difficult due to work commitments.

"I know everybody's got work commitments and the rest of it. I along with several other members of the Show Society have had to take holidays to be here and help out.
"We always want more involvement, but we need people with interest, ability, time and contacts to get things done," she said.
Ms Renshaw hoped that people such as Showgirl participants and the Society's Next Gen group will take charge.
"We need more members in the local Next Gen aged from 12 through to 25, at the moment we've only got high school kids," she said.
Ms Renshaw also wanted to thank those who were involved in the 2019 Show and urged anyone interested in joining the Next Gen group to come to Show meetings held on the first Tuesday of every month from 6.30pm-7pm at the Show office.
