Police called for witnesses after a 58-year-old visitor, very shaken, reported the incident on August 6, 2018.
He told police a white sedan had been tail-gating him on Gas Works Lane at about 7am, before overtaking him and blocking the road so he could go no further. It is alleged the man in the white sedan got out of his car, yelling and waving a baseball bat, which he then threw at the man's car, bending its antenna. It is alleged he also hit the side mirror with the bat.
The visitor reversed out on the lane and down a side street. Police allege the man driving the white sedan continued to harass the man on Chifley Road before he was able to reach the Lithgow Police station and seek help.
The Lithgow man has been charged with one count of affray and one count of being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence. He will appear in Lithgow Local Court on April 11.
