Turon Gates has been restocking the Turon River with trout for over 20 years of their own pocket but pesky Carp and Redfin pose a challenge.
Kirsten Lunoe from Turon Gates marketing said the competition was something they had been doing for fun for the last few years with Sofala Branch Cas Fishing.
“It’s a fun project to reduce damaging Carp and Redfin populations and use funds raised to restock with trout fingerlings and balance the populations in the river,” she said.
Entry fee for the competition is $10 per adult and $5 per child with all proceeds going towards native fish stocking in the Turon River.
Participants must hold a fishing licence, if you do not have one they are available for purchase for $7 and will last three days from https://www.service.nsw.gov.au
