The art display is part of Seniors Week celebrations at Lithgow Library, which in 2019 is focused on 'celebrating creative ageing'. The works have all been produced by our very talented seniors.
Seniors Week events at the Lithgow library aims to be a little different this year, offering opportunities to learn a new skill, to become aware of your legal rights or be entertained by our budding poets during a poetry slam.
Join in a panel of lawyers and seniors rights experts on Tuesday, February 19 between 10am and 12pm as they explore issues that older people and their families experience when planning for the future.
There are limited spaces available on Wednesday, February 20 for a Telstra Tech Savvy Seniors introduction to computers class.
The class will be held between 10am and 12pm and bookings are essential. You are welcome to bring your own device to this session.
A poetry slam event will be held on Thursday, February 21 between 11am and 1pm followed by a light lunch. Anyone can register to perform on the day alongside the poetry workshop group who are looking forward to presenting their poetry skills.
Audience participation is required as you will be the judges on the day. Winners of the seniors’ art competition will also be announced at the poetry slam.
Bookings are preferred for this event.
The digital exhibition Art of Aging will also be playing in the Lithgow Library between February 13 and 25.
