After two decades of volunteering in the canteen for the Lithgow Hockey Association, Dawn Gamble has officially stepped down.
According to LHA representative Virginia Smith, Ms Gamble would work tirelessly to have the canteen up and running for visitors.
“On Saturday games she would start in the canteen at 5am and work until finish and on carnival days and at State Champs she would be working from 3 or 4am until all the games are finished,” she said.
“We are all really grateful for her years of service to Lithgow Hockey Association and don’t think we could ever replace her.”
Other volunteers who are also stepping down from their volunteering roles are Carol Single, Mal Boyden and Ian Kelly who have also shopped, prepared, cooked, organised and fed thousands of visitors and players.
