The Bureau of Meteorology predicted rain from Tuesday to Thursday, while some locations also to received a little on Friday.
So far this week there have been numerous weather warnings, and wild winds have swept through the region leaving a trail of destruction.
The wettest place to be this week was Orange, with a hefty 58.2 millimetres of rain recorded, with Bathurst coming in a close second with 56.4mm.
It was also quite wet in Cowra with 40.4mm of rain received, while Forbes had 34.2mm.
Good rain was also received in Mudgee (28.8mm), Dubbo (28.2mm), Parkes (26.4mm), Lithgow (22.8mm) and Young (21.8mm).
A sunny weekend is predicted across most of the Central West with temperatures predicted to reach the mid to high 20s.
In eastern parts of the region, there is however a chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday.
