The court heard Kali Tuuta, 26, punched a corrections officer in the nose and mouth during an incident on October 16.
In an earlier assault, a guard suffered cuts to his inner arms when Tuuta struck him with his handcuffed wrists on January 19 as he was being readied to leave his cell in order to attend a medical appointment.
He was found guilty in Lithgow Local Court on November 16.
Drugs
A Umina Beach teen was fined $800 in Lithgow Local Court on November 15 for possessing a prohibited drug in Lithgow.
Jade Brown, 19, was found to be carrying 0.46grams of amphetamines in a black handbag during a visit to Lithgow Correctional Centre’s grounds on October 13.

Hornsby man Darren Kean, 34, was fined $400 for possession of a prohibited drug after he was found in possession of 0.4grams of cannabis during a visit to Lithgow Correctional Centre on August 5.
The drug was found in the centre console of his car.
Drug driving
A Wallerawang man was fined $800 and disqualified from driving for six months after he was found guilty of driving with an illicit drug in his system.
Aoun Moutrage, 39, was pulled over for a random breath and oral drug test on Barton Avenue, Wallerawang on August 23.
Lithgow Local Court heard he tested positive for methylamphetamine and cocaine.
Fine for cannabis
Jesse Riddell, 21, of Lithgow was fined $1600 in Lithgow Local Court in relation to growing a 40cm tall cannabis plant.
Police attended a Sandford Avenue address on October 31 in relation to an unrelated incident and spotted the cannabis plant growing near the back door.
It was seized by the police officers.
Riddell was fined $800 for each charge of possessing a prohibited plant and cultivating a prohibited plant.
