Set in 1988 the play by Chris Thompson is about a regular Australian family’s plans to celebrate Australia Day and a 75th Wedding Anniversary when things starts to go down hill and get dysfunctional.
The play will be directed by Stage five drama teacher Abigail Cases.
Ms Cases said it was tradition for Lithgow High School to put on a full production at the end of every year.
“It’s been really good, it’s lots of fun and this is the fifth year I’ve done it now,” she said.
She said it was a family comedy, set in the 80s so people could expect daggy clothes and fun music.
“It’ll be a great show and the students have been working really hard,” Ms Cases said.
Stage five drama student Ellie Thompson-Spillane said she enjoyed being on stage.
“It’s an outlet, you don’t have to be yourself and it’s a lot of fun. I can’t wait to perform,” she said.
Drama student Grace Bishop also said she enjoyed performing because it allowed her to play different characters.
“It’s fun getting to be someone else, drama is my favourite subject and I’m keen to put on a show with my class mates,” she said.
Thicker than Water will also be on at 11.00am on Thursday, November 29.
Tickets can be purchased with cash at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for concession.
