The two day carnival will be held on February 9 and 10 at the JM Robson Aquatic Centre.
The Mountains and Plains regions consists of 25 swimming clubs from across the Central West and Blue Mountains.
The MPS Championships were likely to attract over 300 swimmers for the weekend event.
Lithgow Swimming Club president Steve Kennedy said holding the MPS Championships in Lithgow would be a great way for the town to showcase its facilities to the region.
“It will be a boost for the town with many swimmers choosing to spend the night in Lithgow,” Mr Kennedy said.
The club have also had a busy start to the summer season.
Thirty swimmers from Lithgow attended the Glenbrook Festival swimming carnival on Sunday, November 11.
A number of swimmers received medals for their achievements including the Lithgow girls 4 x 50 metre freestyle who won a gold medal.
This qualified them for the NSW state age championships to be held in March 2019 at Sydney Olympic Park.
“It is fantastic to see so many young swimmers from Lithgow training hard and being rewarded with excellent results at the regional carnivals,” Mr Kennedy said.
Race nights remain popular on Friday nights, with numbers increasing each week to put their training into practice.
The club’s annual twilight carnival will be held on Saturday, December 8.
There are currently 125 individual swimmers registered for the event.
Lithgow Swimming Club expected numbers to increase in the coming days with registrations closing on Friday, November 30.
