This follows an emergency water break that occurred on Wednesday night, November 14 in Coalbrook Street which, according to Lithgow City Council’s director of water and waste water Daniel Buckens, took a while to identify.
“We repaired the break and recharged the line and then the section next to it burst and we repaired that section and now the next section on the other side has burst,” he said.
According to Mr Buckens this is the first time the water main has burst in this section but the pipes are quite old and ageing.
“Having three burst in such a short period of time, it could continue to go on a little further due to the old sections of pipe, but we will continue to repair them,” he said.

Mr Buckens advised residents that once water returns to run their pipes for a little while because they may experience dirty water for a period of time.
“Council wishes to apologies for any inconvenience this has caused and would like to ensure residents that the service will be returned as soon as possible.”
Repairs are expected to be complete by 3pm on Thursday, November 15.
