The inmates recently continued their good work by painting and repairing the Portland Rural Fire shed and contributed to the ongoing maintenance by mowing and edging the grounds.
This allows the Rural Fire Service members more time for training, fighting fires and looking after the community they serve.
The Portland Brigade would also like to take this opportunity to remind individuals that volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Anyone wishing to join or find information can contact the brigade at their shed 8 Lime St Portland, Sundays 9am-11am or at their meetings the second Monday of the month from 7.30pm.
