Blue Mountains Police Rescue, NSW Ambulance and the Toll Ambulance Rescue were called by felllow climbers after the man struck his head after landing on a small ledge.
Paramedics arrived by helicopter and lowered the climber to the base. He was carried a short distance with the help of climbers before he was winched out and flown to hospital.
Blue Mountains Police Rescue took to social media to thank the Rural Fire Service who transported equipment used for the rescue in their four wheel drive vehicles.
