The hampers will be delivered to farmers in Louth during the second week in December.
Organiser of Helping Farmers in the Central West, Leanne Fitzgerald, visited the Lithgow Girl Guides on Monday, October 29 to give them a gift and thank them for their hard work.
“The girls created Christmas hampers; some have food, some have household products, some have baby products and some of the hampers are mixed,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
According to Ms Fitzgerald, the Helping Farmers in the Central West group won’t be conducting a working bee this time because of the logistics of getting a group together to travel to Louth.
“We will have one truck deliver the hampers and we will also be taking water up there for the farmers,” she said.
“We just want to give these farmers a little help and hopefully put a smile on their face.”
Ms Fitzgerald discussed with the Guides how the farmers in that area of NSW may not have had rain for as long as the girls have been alive.

The girls were each given a little hamper from Ms Fitzgerald which included items the girls could use on their next camp.
Girl Guides leader Cheryl Rutherford said that receiving the hampers was just super because the Guides don’t think of doing things to get gifts in return.
“We did it to help everybody who is struggling,” she said.
The Guides then gave Ms Fitzgerald a bravo to thank her for the hard work she has put in.
“She doesn’t a get a gift for doing this hard work, her gift is seeing the farmers reaction when they get help, so this bravo is for her and everyone else who is helping the farmers,” Ms Rutherford said.
