The cooking classes were aimed at providing easy and healthy recipes to encourage parents and carers to provide nutritious meals for their family.
All participants received a HIPPY exclusive cookbook, which has been compiled by the local HIPPY team to meet the needs of local families.
The cooking classes were incredibly successful, with families learning new recipes in a supportive and fun environment as well as sharing ideas and many laughs. Child care was also provided for the event.
HIPPY Coordinator, Ashlea Werner said it was exciting to see a group of people learning together and encouraging each other along the way.
“We tried to provide a range of different recipes that make the most of seasonal ingredients and allow the families to try new flavours and textures,” she said.

“And most importantly the children were also there to try the spoils of their parents’ labour which was very rewarding for all of us.”
