A very welcome sound was heard on rooftops as Lithgow recorded some of its most steady rain since early 2018 on Wednesday, October 11.
According to the Bureau of Meteology, a total of 29mm fell in the 24 hours up to 9am on Thursday.
That brings October’s total rainfall up to 52mm, already just a few drops behind the full September rainfall total of 55mm.
October looks set to be Lithgow’s wettest month at least since February this year, which saw 88mm fall.
The low point came in July, when Lithgow recorded just 8mm for the entire month.
Wet conditions are forecast to continue throughout the weekend and into next week.
