Greg Inglis has been suspended for Australia's two-Tests tour of New Zealand after being charged with mid-range drink driving just hours following his appointment as Test captain.

He was pulled over for speeding at Lithgow at about 2.15pm on Monday afternoon, October 1.
He had his license suspended, and is due to appear at Lithgow Local Court on November 22.

Inglis had said on Tuesday he hoped to retain his spot in the Kangaroos team to take on the Kiwis and Tonga but he was instead suspended by NRL CEO Todd Greenberg and Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga.
"Greg is not just a great player, he is one of our best role models, but he made a poor decision on this occasion," Greenberg said.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs captain addressed the media on Tuesday afternoon following his drink-driving and speeding charge.
During the press conference, Inglis apologised for his actions.
In a statement, the Rabbitohs said Inglis had a 14 year unblemished record in the NRL and had the full support of the South Sydney Club.
