On Sunday, September 16 a group of Lithgow female artists created a very quirky, colourful installation in Gallery Lane.
The installation titled ‘Out on a Limb!’ was inspired by the work of Orange based artist, Rhonda Campbell.
The women created delightful, quirky work using tree branches decorated with recycled materials fashioned into the natural shapes and forms of the branches.
The women have used fabric, wool, lace and anything else they could get their hands on.
Over several months, they met weekly to create the art, exchanging techniques and stories and have produced this amazing, colourful gallery of vibrant works.
Lithgow Tidy Towns invites the Lithgow community to amble up Gallery Lane leading from Main Street to Woolworths and enjoy the celebration of fun, creativity and friendship by Ludwina Roebuck, Jannine Smith, Virginia Chambers, Dianne Barber, Melanie, Carmen and Max Schindler and Ellie Baxter.
These wonderful creatives were supported by Charlie Smith, Damien Roebuck and Adrian Schindler who assisted with the installation.
The group would also like to thank Lithgow City Council for their ongoing support of art installations in Gallery Lane.
