Lions Club of Geurie receive donated toiletries from Albury retirees:
Albury residents Laurie Reynolds and Neil Milburn travelled over 500 kilometres to Ballimore with a truck full of donated toiletries that will be distributed to farmers in central west NSW.
The items were donated from people at Somerville, on the Mornington Peninsular, Victoria and in the Albury/Wodonga region.
Gilgandra shearer Steven Mudford creates new world record of most wethers shorn in eight hours:
Steven shore 373 sheep at Parkdale Stud, Collie on September 8, beating the previous record of 356, which was held by David Grant for 11 years.
He averaged 1.29 minutes per sheep for eight hours and completed the shearing challenge in four rounds, being 94, 93, 92, 94.
Country rock band hope to help break the drought at Coonamble:
Putting on a great show and hopefully helping to break the drought is the aim of Canberra based band, Brewn, when they perform at the Coonamble Raindance Ball this October.
School of Rural Health students raise thousands for Lifeline Central West:
A total of 356.4 kilometres was run by more than 20 School of Rural Health students at this year’s Dubbo Stampede, all to raise money for Lifeline Central West.
International guests attend the 2018 Broken Heel Festival:
Across the entire weekend there was more than 6500 people who attended the 2018 Broken Heel Festival.
Organisers say this number is up on previous year’s with attendees coming from across Australia and overseas.
Plenty of products on offer at the 2018 camping show:
More than 7000 people from across the central west will walk through the gates to the 2018 Orana Caravan, Camping, 4WD, Fish and Boat Show this weekend.
Held at the Dubbo Showgrounds from September 14-16, the annual event not only attracts camping enthusiasts or grey nomads, but families wanting to see the latest products on offer.
