A big upset by last-placed Grippers over equal leaders Charolais was the highlight of round seven of the Lithgow Table Tennis Association Summer Competition.

Charolais looked like they would add to their four match winning streak when they led early at 5-3. Grippers had other ideas and soon had it tied up at 8-all.
Grippers hit the power from there, going on a 6-1 run to finish the singles and added a 2-0 doubles result to claim an emphatic 16-9 victory. Lou Kappos led the way for Grippers with 6-1, while Maurie played three three-gamers for 5-4 and Roy Barlow contributed a 3-4 effort.

For Charolais, none of the three ‘M’s could make it into positive territory, with Mark McAulay recording 4-4, Megan Kappos 3-4 and Mark Watchorn 2-6.
Spinners were never in their match with Wrecksavers and it was all but over after Wrecksavers won the first six rubbers by a combined twelve games to three. Spinners stemmed the bleeding momentarily to get back to 13-7 down but Wrecksavers cruised to a comfortable 17-8 win.
All of the Wrecksavers made solid contributions, led by Carol Poole at 6-1, while Peter Jaccoud went 5-3 and Matt Kappos 4-4.
None of the Spinners were able to get going, with Pauline Wellfare returning 3-5, Malcolm Jefferies 2-4 and Riza Wiradi dropping three 2-1 decisions for 3-6.
