The students dressed like a farmer on Thursday, August 30 and donated a gold coin for doing so.
Money was also raised by holding a lolly guessing competition and a three prize raffle.
Organising teacher Jenny Donnelly said the amount raised far surpassed her expectations.
“I expected to maybe raise at least $500 or $600 at most but students and staff have been so giving with their donations,” she said.
The amount raised will allow Buy a Bale to give five large bales to farmers in need.

Year 11 students Tess Sheather and Hayden Taylor got behind the fundraiser by going around during break times collecting money.
“I can’t believe how much we raised, it is really, really good,” Miss Sheather said.
This wasn’t just another ordinary fundraiser for Miss Sheather though as the outcome to her was quite personal.
“This is a good fundraiser because it’s really helping the farmers who are going through this drought and coming from a farm, a sheep farm, it really hits close to the heart,” she said.
“I am just really proud of our school and happy with what we have achieved.”
