Year 12 students have just returned to the classroom after completing their Trial Higher School Certificate examinations. They prepared for these examinations well and are aspiring to the very high levels of success enjoyed by Year 12 in 2017.
The school is accepting applications for enrolment in 2019 and a number of transition activities have been scheduled for prospective students which involve school tours with the principal, activities with Peer Support Leaders and sample lessons in a variety of key learning areas.
Recently we held special days for visiting primary school students to watch the school musical and to participate in a Science iSTEM day and La Salle students enjoyed celebrating a special Mass with students from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School.
Excitingly, La Salle has just entered into a sister school arrangement with Toke High School in Japan, in order to continue the exchange of friendship and sharing of cultural experiences.
Sport continues to be a popular extra-curricular activity for students, with numerous opportunities to excel. The La Salle netball team has recently travelled to Penrith to compete and our hockey team is currently competing in Newcastle.
La Salle Academy places a high level of focus on community and social justice issues. Students are currently making plans to assist with the sale of Legacy badges and are organising a fundraiser for “Buy a Bale” to support Australian farmers.
For the opportunity to see the wonderful facilities and educational programs on offer at the school, interested students are encouraged to book an appointment with the school Principal, Joyce Smith (6354 5100).
