Miss Waru will be selling fresh daffodils, Dougal bears, magnets, key chains and pens, all in which range from $3 to $15.
This is the first time Miss Waru will be running the Daffodil Day stall for Lithgow though she has volunteered with the Cancer Council before with events such as Dancing with the Stars and relay for life.
“I like to volunteer and help out so when I saw an ad on Facebook that my friend posted I decided to get in touch and see how I could help,” Miss Waru said.
As it turns out Miss Waru was the only interested party in Lithgow and the Cancer Council was keen on having her help.
“In the grand scheme of things we are helping people, even though on the day it might not seem like it, but in reality everyone benefits from this,” she said.
“I hope to raise at least $500 but with this being my first time I am not sure what is realistic and what isn’t."
All the money raised will be going towards cancer research, providing patient support and prevention programs for all Australians.
“It will be great, I am actually really excited,” she said.
