Shaun and Sharon will take centre stage as part of the Lithgow and District Workmen’s Club ‘Feed Our Farmers’ fundraising gala, which will be held on September 9. All funds raised will go to the Buy a Bale appeal.
The Workies are kick-starting the fundraising with $5000 towards a trailer load of hay.
The event, which starts at 2pm, will include live entertainment from Dean Taylor, Dave Webb, Kelly Hamilton, Brendan Coleman and Paul Crowder.
Lithgow Workies general manager Geoff Wheeler urged people to support the day and gave a shout out to local farmers and their families to come along, join in and relax.
“There has been discussion about people hurting in the local community and we wanted to help out our local farmers,” he said.
“It costs $9600 to buy a trailer load of hay, so we’ve put $5000 towards that.”
Throughout the day there will be raffles, auctions, silent auctions, games and more.

A kids’ disco will run from 2pm-5pm, with singing, dancing games and more (entry gold coin donation).
Donations for auctions include corporate box tickets to Keith Urban, Cher, Shania Twain and Sam Smith, the Roosters and Sydney Kings. There will be accommodation offers, vouchers, cash memorabilia and more. The Workies thanked all the generous sponsors that made this possible.
As for Shaun and Sharon, they have been welcoming people’s change, with all the proceeds to go to the Buy a Bale appeal.
At the fundraising event, people can guess their weight, with prizes on offer.
Community members can also help Buy a Bale by donating $50 or $20 at club reception. More details on this bid to fill a truck load will be coming soon.
Mr Wheeler thanked the artists performing for donating their time to the cause, as well as the businesses doing their part, including Guardian Venue Management International, Ferrero, Club Plus Superannuation, Tough Grind Barbers, Pilates with Lucy, Tooheys, Royal Hotel Wallerawang, Murray’s Meats, Blooms the Chemist, Sydney Roosters, Dougherty’s Pharmacy, Westfund and more.
