On Monday a dramatic redraft of the federal government’s National Energy Guarantee (NEG) and furious speculation about a leadership spill plagued Malcolm Turnbull.
The NEG was expected to be introduced to parliament this week, but talk of the spill has taken over.
Fairfax Media approached Mr Gee for comment on the matter, however, a statement was issued through his press secretary.
“Liberal Party leadership issues are a matter for the Liberal Party. I’m not a member of the Liberal Party so it’s not something that I get a vote or a say on,” the statement from Mr Gee said.
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton has been touted as a possible replacement for Turnbull, but as recently as two days ago he declared his support for the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Fairfax Media is waiting on a response from Riverina MP and Deputy Prime Minister Michael.
