The McLachlan Street house, packed so full of boxes containing magazines, papers and other items that no one can get in, will instead be sold via a silent auction.
The house, previously owned by hoarders, also has several old cars in both the front and back yards.
Real estate agent Alistair Miller of LJ Hooker Orange said the change had been made due to “questions regarding the ownership of the chattels.”
The chattels, which includes the cars and the material inside, are not included in the sale of the property.
Mr Miller said about 50 people who had registered an interest in the property with the real estate agency had been contacted regarding the change of sale method.
He said they were invited to submit their “highest and final” bid by noon on Thursday.
The highest bid will then win the silent auction.
The public auction was to have occurred on site at 1pm on Saturday August 18.
Earlier this month Mr Miller said that with so much interest it was hard to gauge the true value of a property that no one could enter to inspect.
“I’m saying $150,000-200,000, it might even go beyond the $200,000. Three bedroom properties in the area, non-brick properties, are attracting the $350-$400,00 mark,” he said.
The property would also likely suit a builder who could clean up and restore the house at a cost where they could make money at a later sale.
He said the house next door was of identical design and it sold for $230,000 last year.
