Bathurst hosted a total of six Premier League Hockey games on Saturday, July 14. Lithgow clubs Zig Zag and Panthers won two of their three games.
Panthers women made an impressive victory against competition heavyweights Orange CYMS, who slammed the Pantherettes 4-0 earlier in the season.
A goal from Emily Thompson made all the difference, with Panthers claiming a 1-0 win.
With some extra help from Kookaburra Lachi Sharp, Zig Zag were able to rattle Bathurst St Pat’s on their home turf.
Luke Sheppeard contributed two goals to the team’s tally, with singles from Eli Shirt, Lachi Sharp and Corey Oldfield. Zig Zag defeated St Pat’s 5-3.
Zig Zag women did not get off so lightly conceding to Bathurst Souths 5-0. The result was a disappointing after Zig Zag’s memorable comeback to draw with Souths in round one of the competition.
Panthers men had a bye.
This Saturday will see an all-in city derby, with Zig Zag women taking on Pantherettes at 1.30pm, followed by another Zig Zag/Panthers face off between the men at 3.50pm.
