Workies welcomes Orange CYMS to Lithgow, Orange Hawks hosts Bathurst St Pat’s, and, in a second-versus-third clash, Cowra battles Panthers at Sid Kallas Oval all on Saturday.
Mudgee’s clash with Oberon at Glen Willow remains the only Sunday game for round 14.
The Blackcats and the Orange Barbarians are also in action on Saturday at Blackheath’s Don Bradman Oval, where hosting rights for the 2018 New Era Cup grand final go on the line in the premiership’s major semi-final.
The occasional Saturday game appears on Group 10’s draw throughout the season, but this is the first time three senior games will be played on a Saturday in 2018.
“Some clubs like it to do it while Saturdays don’t suit others but you tend to see them this time of year when clubs have their major functions, balls, fundraisers, that type of thing, and that’s great,” Zamparini said.
“It might stretch the referees, but we’re working with them, and clubs put a lot of work into these games. It should be a good day.”
Zamparini said scheduling of games was totally up to the clubs, but admits his preference for Group 10 rugby league is on Sundays.
“But this weekend will be interesting,” he added.
“Everyone’s fighting for that top three spot. Three clubs there, Oberon, Cowra, Panthers and CYMS (in fifth) aren’t finished.”
Lithgow Workies will be meeting Orange CYMS at Tony Luchetti showground on Saturday.
League Tag will be playing at 10.30am, Under 18’s at 11.30am and First Division at 12.45pm.
Premier Division will kick off last at 2pm.
The Blackheath Blackcats will take on the Orange Barbarians on Saturday at the Don Bradman Oval in Blackheath.
