The results were very one sided with winners being successful with huge margins.
Ron Simmons, Brian Norris and John Perry defeated Ron Simmons, Tim Breen and Don Kipp 17-19, to come out winners in the event.
Bill Anderson and Les Barnes defeated Bob Ray and Bob Kiernan 16-13 to be runners up, tied with Lionel Johnson and Col Wotton, who beat Greg Quinn and Maurice Nugent with the same score.
The championship matches were played on Saturday, July 7 and players were mainly involved in the handicap pairs.
Ted Healey and Bob Kiernan defeated Angus MacKinnan 21-14 winning 10 ends to 8.
Scott Vanderdraay and Frank Mierczak were too good for Peter Kearney and Gary Vidler, winning 20-13 (11 ends to 7).
Jack Bennett and Ian Townsend led early against Jan Kapusta and Graeme Pitt, but couldn’t maintain the pressure, ultimately going down 16-12 despite winning an even share of the ends.
Players still in the draw are encouraged to make themselves acquainted with dates of play, so the match committee can move forward with the event.
