It was the first time the program has been run in the school since 2016.
Each child was presented with three books to keep in their own special bag. The program, Books in Homes Australia, aims to improve literacy and promote the enjoyment of reading among students, particularly at home.
The delivery of the program, which is making its return in Lithgow Public School, is due to a sponsorship by EnergyAustralia, at a cost of about $13,000, through its community grants program.
The program also donates books to the school library at Lithgow Public.
