Police are seeking information from community members about the incident, which occurred in Cullen Bullen between 8pm on Sunday, June 10, and 6am on Monday, June 11.
The four-year-old pet pony was fatally wounded by an arrow hitting the right side of its head.

Drugs found
Police searched three people sitting in a stationary white ute on Sandford Avenue in the early hours of Thursday, June 21.
Police noted the vehicle parked near Lithgow Hockey Club at 2.30am. They stopped and spoke to the people in the ute, then conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants.
During the search police allege they found a knife, as well as 8.7 grams of amphetamines. A 31-year-old male in the car was arrested and taken to Lithgow Police Station.
He was charged with possession of an illegal substance and possession of a knife. He received bail to attend Lithgow Local Court.
Graffiti on train
Police arrested an 18-year-old man after the inside of a Sydney Trains carriage was defaced between Clarence and Lithgow at 3pm on Wednesday, June 20.
Police found textas, ten spray nozzles, spray cans, a face mask and latex gloves on the man at the scene.
He was charged for defacing the train carriage and will appear at Lithgow Local Court.
Break and enter
A car was stolen from a Portland property after someone broke into the house, ransacked rooms and also ate food from the home’s kitchen.
Between 5pm on Tuesday, June 19, and Wednesday, June 20, an unknown person entered a house on Bell Street, forcing the back sliding door.
Rooms were ransacked and personal items were stolen, including the keys to a purple Ford Festiva parked in the house’s car port.
Police are requesting anyone with information about the break-in or the stolen vehicle to contact Portland Police on 6355 5200.
Charges laid
A 54-year-old Capertee man was charged with high range drink driving in Portland at 12.30am on Sunday, June 17.
Police stopped man while conducting random breath tests on Williwa Street and he provided a positive reading.
Police allege checks revealed the driver was technically disqualified as he had been previously ordered to use an interlocking device on his car.
Police arrested the man and conveyed him to Lithgow Police Station. Breath analysis found the man had a high range PCA. He will appear at Lithgow Local Court.
Portland police are requesting assistance from community members to report drink drivers and those driving under the influence of drugs in order to maintain a safe community.
