Hilliard stuck to his game plan.
Ron Vidler and Greg Hilliard took to the green in rather ordinary conditions and they provided onlookers with a good game.
Vidler picked up an early four to lead by 9-8 after ten ends.
Hilliard stuck to his game plan and took the next seven ends to lead 19-9.
Vidler hit back to get the score to 15-19 down but the he dropped a four to trail 23-15.
Hilliard took control with a couple of twos and threes to take out the game 31-24. He will now take on Geoff Flynn in the next round.
In the coming weeks we have the final of the club pairs between Craig Brown and Craig Pugsley who will take on Pommie Williams and Mike McNamara.
In the singles semi final Craig Brown will play Kim Alexander with the winner to play Ian Pender in the final.
Bowlers are reminded that our membership fees are now due so see Pommie and he will fix them up.
