The new incarnation of LithGlow will be bigger and brighter than ever, with Lithgow City Council collaborating with a range of museums and industrial locations to showcase and celebrate the city’s remarkable story of industrial innovation dating back to the late nineteenth century.
The event has been repositioned and will no longer be held in the summer months. LithGlow Fire and Lights won’t be on during daylight saving time, instead running on May 12 and 13, and will be more family friendly, as events will kick-off earlier in the evenings.
At Blast Furnace Park on Saturday, May 12, there will be an evening of fantastic family fun as the Fire and Light Show colours the sky. The official opening of the park will start at 4.30pm followed by markets, music and entertainment. Special elevated walking platforms will allow visitors to walk through the fiery heart of the once powerful Blast Furnace.
