Raised crossing
Reconstruction on the raised pedestrian crossing adjacent from Cook Street plaza is progressing on schedule despite two days of rain.
Without any further rain delays Main Street should return to two way by Monday, March 12.
Plaza
Concrete work within the plaza is nearing completion and the laying of brick paving has commenced at Cook Street Plaza.
The next stage of works will involve construction in front of the Australia Post loading area. During these works Australia Post will be delivering from the front of their shop on Main Street with a designated loading zone to minimise impact.

Burns Lane
The final stage of concreting will be a raised pedestrian crossing in Burns Lane.
Contractor CA&I is coordinating with the businesses accessing off Burns Lane to minimise impacts.
During the works access through to Cook Street and Burns Lane from the Eskbank Street car park will be restricted.
Access to Burns Lane from Cook Street will also be restricted during the works.
The contractors will out measures in place to ensure access for users.
Burns Lane between Cook Street and Bank Lane will become two way to allow for local traffic to access the rear of Main Street businesses.
Deliveries to Woolworths will see trucks turn off Main Street onto Bank Lane and then reverse down Burns Lane to the Woolworths loading docks.
These works are scheduled to last a week from Tuesday, April 24 to Monday, April 30.
Eskbank Street
Work on the South side of the intersection has been slightly delayed due to conflicts between the proposed new stormwater infrastructure and existing services.
This required a minor redesign of the stormwater layout.
When the design team has completed the new design, only then will construction of kerb, gutter and concrete roads continue.
Through extensive and comprehensive discussions with council’s contract works and design team, the construction program for Eskbank Street and Cook Street Plaza has been condensed in an effort to minimise disruption to local traffic and businesses.
