The Lithgow Musical Society will stage the family classic as its next production in May/June this year and auditions for lead roles will be held in the coming week.
Auditions will be held at the Union Theatre, Bridge Street, Lithgow from 7.30pm on Thursday, January 25 for adult roles.
Children’s roles will be auditioned on Monday, January 29.
If necessary, an additional audition will be held on on Thursday, February 1 for people who can’t make the earlier dates.
Audition songs will be:
- Maria and the Baroness - ‘The Sound of Music’
- Captain Von Trapp & Max - ‘Edelweiss’
- Mother Superior - ‘Climb Every Mountain’
- Liesel & Rolf - ‘16 going on 17’
- The Von Trapp Children - ‘Do Re Mi’

“We realise that people may be away so we will only run the Thursday auditions if people have booked a time,” Society president Paul Goodwin said.
“Everyone is welcome to join the chorus and rehearsals will resume on Monday and Thursday nights from February 5 at 7.30pm.”
