Present and past bowlers were invited to take part in the tournament, which was generously sponsored by the mother club.
Billy Wells was a legend of the Workies as a life member of the mother club and the bowling club.
He was also one of the inaugural members of the bowling club.
In recognition of his great contribution to Workies bowls the Billy Wells tournament is a highlight of the bowling calendar.
With 52 starters and all rinks full the tournament was a wonderful success.
To make the day even more special Bill's daughter Kathy and son Les were on hand to present the winners with their trophy.
Life member and Workies longest serving bowls member Harold Lees added prestige to the runners-up presentation.
Winners on the day were were Col Alyward and Brian Stuart with a one shot victory over Mick McCann and Sue Metcalf.
