There is already a service in Lithgow, but this would be a great opportunity for parents or carers who are would like to understand the best ways to help their children.
Recent research has shown that seven per cent of all children aged 0-17 years live with a disability. Children living with a disability were also most likely to have learning difficulties (43 per cent) while more than a third (35 per cent) had trouble fitting in socially.
The workshops will give important insight into how children approach the world and how they can be supported. At the event Christine Zuvela will explain that behaviour is a method of communication and will explore various preventative and reactive strategies for parents and carers. The aim is to help build parents, carers and educators a toolbox to be better able to support these children.
Christine Zuvela has worked for 17 years in early childhood and is an expert in teaching in autism-specific day care.
The event will be held in the Skyline Room at Bathurst Panthers on Tuesday, October 31, 6:30pm-8:30pm.
