Close to 30 talented painters from as far as Queensland and Victoria have made their way to town to add a few more vintage advertising signs to the walls of Portland.
Work started from 8am on Friday morning and will conclude at 3pm on Sunday.
The Crystal Theatre is set to be the main hub of activity this weekend, as a host of sign-writers prepare several large posters that will eventually adorn the outside walls of the building.
FoodWorks and Biddys Shed on Williwa Street will also sport fresh signs by Sunday night.
The Wallnuts club was instigated by Ron “Biddy” Bidwell back in 2001.
Mr Bidwell has lived in Portland since 2001 and started working as a sign-writer in 1952.
“I could see all these walls with no signs on them,” he said.
Those blank canvasses enabled Biddy to showcase his talent with a throwback to yesteryear.
“It gave me an opportunity to continue doing the old fashioned signs without using computers,” Mr Bidwell said.
“I’m just pleased with the attention it (Wallnuts) is attracting because it means it attracts people to the town and means they spend a dollar in the town.
“So I’m very happy about it.”
