Express train travel will be available throughout the week and on weekends, benefiting customers travelling from places like Bathurst and Lithgow as well as customers on connecting coach services from Dubbo, Wellington, Molong, Orange, Lucknow and Bathurst.
People in the Central West have been asking for better access to the services at the Westmead Health Precinct and that’s what the NSW Government is delivering. The new services will be delivered by adding Westmead as a stop on the Bathurst Bullet seven days a week as well as on the new weekday Lithgow to Sydney CBD return express service.
HSC exams begin
AFTER years of hard work, 70,000 NSW students are starting Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams this week, and I wish them the very best of luck!
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the very first HSC exam, with over 2.3 million students studying through the framework since then.
Congratulations to all the students, and let’s not forget the teachers and support staff. While this is the last leg of your school journey, remember, at the end of the day, it’s just an exam. The 117 written exams will finish on Tuesday, November 7.
School zone maintenance
ROADS and Maritime Services manages more than 5800 school zones flashing signs that keep children safe across NSW.
To ensure pedestrian safety, the sites undergo general maintenance from time to time, and throughout the next week, several sites in Bathurst will have scheduled maintenance performed.
Bathurst and Kelso public schools, along with the Assumption and Cathedral primary schools, will have maintenance crews on-site between 7am and 5pm.
The work will be carried out so that it does not affect the operations of school zone flashing signs around the schools.

AN extension has been granted for applications to the 2017/18 Local Sports Grants. Applications will now close this Friday, October 20 at 5pm. For more information visit www.sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants/localsport.
