The annual Rydal Gymkhana, hosted by the Rydal Show Society Youth Council, draws people from around the region and as far as Camden and the Megalong Valley to compete.
This is the third year of the event, which keeps on growing.
“The first year was a good event, it allowed us to sort out the best way to run it,” Gymkhana spokesperson Grace Hadley said.
“Last year the number of people competing doubled.”
The events invite competition from all ages, including a led division, up to an open age division.
“Everyone gets involved. I think the youngest has been two and the oldest was in their 80s,” Hadley said.
“It's a family day – a great day for everyone to come along to.”
The organising committee has been hard at work this year, replacing part of the fencing along the front part of the showground.
Canteen and coffee service will start from 8am, with the action set to start soon after with the sporting and stockman’s challenge events.
Novelty events will be held at lunchtime, featuring all the old favourites, the egg and spoon race, three-legged race, sack race and more.
“They are lots of fun and get everyone involved,” Hadley said.
“Lots of spectators like to watch the challenges.”
The Farmer’s Challenge, Ironman Challenge and Barrel Race events will be held during the afternoon.
