A small and determined group of volunteers turned out to help plant trees in the area, braving the chilly wind.
Landcare coordinator Rechelle Fisher said the event continued an ongoing maintenance program for the area.
The plantings included a range of natives such as bottlebrush, to encourage birds and wildlife into the area, and lomandra for bank stabilisation.
This coming Saturday, you can help plant and learn more about a threatened native species, the purple copper butterfly.
Meet at the Lithgow Pony Club at 10am on Saturday, September 23.
The session runs until 12pm, followed by a barbecue.
