Held in conjunction with Daffodils at Rydal, the show, titled ‘High Country Cats’ will include 50 cats competing in kitten, cat and ‘oldies’ categories. This is the show’s fifth year at the village.
The show is open to the public, with judging getting underway at about 9.30am and the winners of the four main categories (companion cat, best kitten, best cat and best older cat) presented at 2.30pm.
Organiser and Wyecoon breed enthusiast Dick Wye said the weekend offered a unique opportunity for city breeders to get out into the countryside.
“It’s our one chance that city breeders get to come and meet the people in the country,” he said.
“On the Saturday, we take a bus tour around the area and some of the wineries, so it’s a social thing, where members can meet the bush.”
Entry is $5 per person or $10 for a family.
