A 39-year-old Lithgow man has suffered significant injuries to his head and back after he was involved in a crash near Sodwalls on Monday afternoon.

He was airlifted by helicopter to Westmead Hospital where he was in a stable condition on Tuesday afternoon.
The man crashed his car head-on into an embankment on Sodwalls Road around 1.30pm.
He was trapped in the vehicle until he was cutout by emergency services.
Paramedics, police, Police Rescue, Lithgow VRA and the SES attended the scene.
Sodwalls Road was closed in both directions until around 4.30pm on Monday.
MONDAY 2PM: Police are responding to a motor vehicle accident near Sodwalls on Monday afternoon.
A man is believed to be trapped after the single vehicle crash on Sodwalls Road* about 400 metres outside of Sodwalls.
The Volunteer Rescue Association have also made their way to the scene.
